(INTERACTIVE) DREAM μ 05
Warnings: None
Effects: A temporary feeling of nostalgia, which ends when Noel allows access to her dream
Notes: At first, this is a non-interactive dream, but Noel ends up becoming self-aware within the dream and opens it up for Dreamwalking.
"♪On the hill where the stars are dancing... I will never forget the memories... of the stars... that we both gazed upon together... hand in hand...♪"
A voice singing. A room with a large chalkboard on the wall and four long tables arranged to form a square shape. For those who have went to those type of schools, it could be easily recognized as a Student Council meeting room. Seated at one of the tables were a pair of girls wearing matching school uniforms, sorting through the comment and suggestion forms submitted by the various students of the Military Academy so that dealing with them would be much easier. A third girl wearing the same uniform, quite distinct with her squirrel-like ears and fluffy tail, sits atop of an adjacent table, opting to laze about. The voice belonged to the younger-looking blond student, which some may recognize as Noel Vermillion. The other, a more mature-looking redhead that some would remember being Tsubaki Yayoi, glances to see Noel's bright grin and gives a small chuckle.
"... You know, you always seem so happy whenever you sing that song, Noel," she comments, momentarily stopping her work so she can focus more on her friend.
"Yeah, you're always having this big ol' smile on your face!" the squirrel-tailed girl chimes in, her hazel eyes twinkling mischievously. "Going by the words to that... Maybe you have a long lost love that you haven't told us about?! Oooh, are you keeping secrets from us, Noellie? Are ya?!"
"Wh... Wha... M-Makoto, stop that!" Noel couldn't even hide how red her face was turning. "I-It's just... That song really makes me feel... nostalgic somehow?"
She sounded really unsure of herself, for good reason. She didn't remember any of her past before she was adopted, yet... That song and its melody lifted her spirits for some reason, which really helped when going through the tiring task of organizing all these stacks of paper. The three girls continued to chat and joke around for a few more minutes, but were interrupted by the door opening slightly and the head of a very young boy with ostentatious glasses poking in.
"Umm... Excuse me," he nervously speaks as he steps in and closes the door in front of him, clutching a small bundle of papers. "I... I brought the documents from the Elementary Divi---"
"HOORAY! It's little Carl! C'mere, you!" Makoto squeals with delight as she launches herself from the table and practically flies across the room towards the poor boy. She pulls him into a tight hug, and it takes all of Carl's willpower not to drop any of the forms to the floor. Makoto could never keep her hands off of small boys...
"M-Makoto!" Tsubaki quickly stood up from her chair to scold the squirrel girl. "Please stop that right now! You're scaring him!"
Noel just sits there and giggles as she watches the events unfold. Just another ordinary day after school at the Military Academy. Fond memories. The conversations Noel had with her fellow students and friends. It's all precious to her.
"But... none of this ever happened... I know this."
As if on cue, all the other students faded away, as if they never existed in the first place. The Student Council meeting room once filled with the warmth of her friend's chatter and laughter quickly became cold and silent. Still in the form of her younger student self, Noel slowly rises from her seat, her smile already turned into a look of sadness and disappointment. She's become aware that this was all a dream, and nothing more. The Dreamberry is probably recording too... It's strange, knowing that she could sort of communicate through it even though she was taking a nap on a sofa in the mansion. She turns to look at the large window taking up half the wall behind her. The outside was pretty much a perfect copy of the Academy's courtyard, along with the detail of the grassy field in the distance. But, knowing how this was just a Dreamfield Noel just created in her mind, it was probably the same thing as taping a large photo to the glass.
"I want to run away, to escape... I just wanted to go back to when everything was simple..." she gives a tired sigh as she rests her forehead against the window's pane. "I need to open my eyes soon... I need to wake up from this. The illusion has got to end sooner or later."
Should she really wake up now, though? It would be nice to show people what her world was like... At the very least, the good part of it. Yeah, she shouldn't waste this opportunity. The idea actually manages to brighten her up a bit, and she walks over to the door that 'leads' to the hall, placing her hand on its handle. Speaking of which... What would the Military Academy be like if the people in Somarium were in it?
"Hmm... I guess it wouldn't hurt to walk around and see the campus a bit longer. I hope I remember what everything looks like..." she flings the door open, and the black void beyond it quickly constructing itself into a hallway with intricately designed windows and wall engravings. Large rotating symbols on the ceiling glowed, giving additional light and warmth. Pretty impressive, huh?

Location unknown. Spacial co-ordinates... unable to verify.
no subject
Ummm... You kind of fell into my dream. I-It's modeled after the Military Academy in the 15th Hierarchical City.
no subject
Scans indicate abnormal spacial composition... this is... a "dream"?
no subject
[This is so awkward.]
Apparently, all of the people pulled into Somarium have the ability to create spaces like this when they dream. Even you, Lambda.

Searching for relevant instructions... searching... none found. Please input relevant instructional information.

Well, um... You can review the information on the Dreamberry archives, but... I-I guess I can teach you a few things. Let's have a more open setting...
[Noel closes her eyes and focuses a bit, and the hall around her starts to warp and gradually shape itself into the Hanging Gardens of Kagutsuchi's NOL branch (http://images.wikia.com/blazblue/images/2/29/Hanging_Gardens.png). Also, both of them are back into their normal age/attire. As soon as the change is complete, Noel opens her eyes.]
Well, first of all, since this is my dream, I can change the surroundings at will... Y-You're able to create objects by manipulating Dream Energy, though.
1/2
Executing program.
2/2
Complete.

[They're copies of each other, after all. Noel picks up the Ragna plush and examines it. Upon inspection, it's kind of cute... In an ugly-cute sort of way---
Wait, why Ragna? She hopes Lambda isn't like Nu...]
Well, that's the extent of what you can do here--Oh, wait. There's also one more important thing: How are your motor skills here? Some people have trouble with that in Dreamfields...
1/2
2/2
Motor functions within acceptable parameters.
no subject
Well, then I guess you'll have no problems when you're in a Dreamfield.
[There's a momentary pause before she moves onto another topic.]
Hey... I know before that I've been... avoiding you... but, I think I'm fine now. If you'd like, maybe we could spend more time together?
no subject
No objection.
no subject
—Whoops. Looks like I somehow entered the dream, haha!
...But where am I?
no subject
[Noel jumps with surprise once Ace pops into her dream. So much for enjoying the environment all by herself. She turns, her heart finally not trying to jump out of her chest.]
Um... This is the Military Academy I graduated from. Anyone who wants to enlist in the Novus Orbis Librarium is expected to receive education here. Or at least, that's where this dream is taking place...
[Paaaaauuuuuuuuse. Now she really has to ask:]
... Did you get lost again?
no subject
[and sheepish laugh.]
Well in a way you could say I'm lost, but honestly I'm not quite sure how I got here. I was watching it from my Dreamberry and then here I am.
Sorry for surprising you.
no subject
[Though Noel's spaciness and Ace's tendency to pop out of nowhere is a horrible combination. Nonetheless, she manages to put a smile back on her face.]
Anyway, you're correct. This where I went to school, and it's the best educational establishment in the world. Since it's funded by the NOL, everything's really well-kept.
[She points upwards.]
See? The lights on the ceiling and even the weather control are powered by Seithr. I used to think that it's something pretty normal, but... Ever since I started hearing about other people's worlds, I started to think that my world's use of Ars Magus is really amazing.

no subject
Yeah... I ended up graduating six months early, though. If I had a choice, I'd love to have stayed longer...

But why not just make new friends?
no subject
Well, I managed to do that here without having to go to school... It's just, Tsubaki and Makoto are really important to me. Ever since we enlisted in the NOL, our relationships became so complicated...
no subject
no subject
... Can we talk about something else?
no subject
Fair enough. I would ask for a tour, but that might bring up some sad memories.
no subject
No, I don't mind. I assure you that this place has nothing but good memories. Was there anything in particular about the Academy City you were curious about?

[Noel turns to the door that she just went through, and opens it again. Instead of the Student Council Room, it leads to a grassy field overlooking the entire Military Academy campus. Unfortunately, due to ~dreamfield size limitations~ there are invisible walls in place like the ones in some video games.
Also, it's quite windy.]
Back then, I used to come to this field a lot to... [write crappy poetry] ... think. There's also a forest nearby, and I ended up falling off a cliff in there because I wasn't paying atttention...
no subject
Wow, this is pretty cool. [wait—turning to look at her.]
You fell off a cliff?
no subject
Y-Yes... It was really scary. Makoto saved me and Tsubaki by cushioning our fall. Thanks to her incredible strength, we all managed to not get seriously hurt when we landed...

... Why did that girl look like a squirrel?! Noel's world was weird! It was so weird that he missed what Noel was saying, and didn't realize that everything was about to get ten times weirder.
In a blink, Elliot wasn't standing in the living room anymore, but in the ornate beautiful hallway of Noel's academy.
"What the--?!" His first instinct was to whip around, looking at everything he could catch a look at in a confused frenzy. He backed up to a wall, staring out at the room. He'd heard about Dreamwalking, but he thought it was always voluntary... Plus he had no idea how to get out now.
no subject
Anyway... Hello, Elliot. Noel stares at him in surprise, still in the form of her fifteen-year-old student self. She didn't remember him going to that Dreamwalker training session... Wait, does that mean people could enter dreams by accident?! That's not good... Especially if someone were on a ladder or something---No, stop getting your mind off track, Noel. There's more pressing matters at hand.
"Um... Why are you here?"
no subject
"I have no idea! It's your dream! You're the one who did this!"
no subject
"D-Don't shift the blame to other people!" she flails angrily. "I just allowed access to the dream! It's up to everyone else if they want in or not!"
Wait a second---If he did this by accident, then...
"Um... By the way, were you sitting down before you came here?"
no subject
"Uh... No. Why?"
no subject
"B-Because once someone enters a dream, they automatically fall asleep right where they are," her tone and expression becomes increasingly worried as she goes on. "I mean, it would be bad if someone was near the lake, or crossing the street, or..."
Maybe it would be better if she didn't continue on.
